Duties and Responsibilities: An
emergency medical dispatcher is a professional tele communicator, tasked with
the gathering of information related to medical emergencies.
Salary: $36,300 per
year -$17.45 per hour
Education:
Some states require ambulance dispatchers to be certified and could provide credentials
through the state Department of Health or the Department of Transportation.
Additionally, the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International
(APCO) and National Academies of Emergency Dispatch (NAEMD) are both nonprofit
organization that offer certification programs for the emergency medical
dispatching industry.
Reflection: I would not like to be one because I don’t
like it.
