Duties and Responsibilities: Dental
assistants greatly increase the efficiency of the dentist in the delivery of
quality oral health care and are valuable members of the dental care team. If
you have strong communication skills, enjoy working with your hands as well as
your mind and want a career with responsibilities, dental assisting is for you.
Salary: $23,550 to $47,580
Education: There are no formal education
requirements for entering a career in dental assisting. Some assistants have a
high school diploma and only receive on-the-job training; however,

training. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were more
than 285 dental assisting education programs approved by the Commission on
Dental Accreditation (CODA) in 2010.
Reflection: I
would not like to be one because I don’t like it.
