Final: Part 1

For the interdisciplinary my topic was the effect of technology on the the eating habits of people. When we got our topic, we got to work right away because we had been told that this was worth a lot for our grades in all of our classes. I really wanted to get a good grade for this because I had get get my grades up for English class, and health class. In my group, i was the first person to finish my paragraph so I wouldn't have to worry about doing it at the last minute. A week after, december 5th, it was about a week before the presentation and we had barely started our powerpoint. We didn't finish it until Tuesday December 9th. A few hours later, we had to practice our presentations during avdisory. When we practiced presenting I was really nervous because I knew that we were going to do this in front of profesionals that knew aboout the subject. The day of the presentation, was really good and we did better than we thought we would. Even if the presentation was not that long, I think we did a good job.

Summary

The video i watched was about a little boy named patrick that disobeyed his parents by not putting his shoes on. It shows that sometimes parents give you rules because they don't want you to get hurt in any type of way. It also shows that disobedience can cause you very painful consequences. This shows that in the real world, you have consequences for evry single thing that you do.

Duties and Responsibilities: A doctor that treats hair, nails, skin and its diseases. It is a specialty with both medical and surgical aspects. A dermatologist treats the diseases, in the widest sense, and some cosmetic problems of the skin, scalp, hair, and nails.

Education: Following the undergraduate program, aspiring dermatologists must attend a four-year accredited medical school. Admission to medical school is extremely competitive, so a high undergraduate GPA is advisable. Students must also take and score well on the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) in order to be accepted for med school.

Dance/Movement Therapist

Yoga Therapist

Duties and Responsibilities: A yoga teacher has several roles to play, as he or she leads a group of students through a comprehensive and approachable sequence of postures, breathing exercises, meditations, and contemplations. One of the primary roles of a Yoga teacher is to create a safe and nurturing space for the students to participate in a class. The teacher is also responsible for demonstrating and guiding the students through a series of poses in a safe and understandable way. Additionally, a certified Yoga instructor will also be able to help his or her students modify the poses, if necessary, and offer suggestions about using Yoga as a therapeutic tool to heal from an injury.

Education: Yoga therapists are well-trained in many areas of health therapy, healing and overall wellness. Schools of yoga train from many different perspectives. Some many include separate units on Ayurveda, although this is not required to become a yoga therapist and does not impact the knowledge necessary to become a competent yoga therapist. Competent yoga therapists must build on a foundation in anatomy, basic physiology, and modern healthcare terminology. Other teachings may include the philosophy of yoga, perspectives of yoga and the mind and yoga practices. Students generally must practice a minimum of 800 hours in a basic yoga therapy program teaching core competencies. 600 contact hours with clients are also required for the International Association of Yoga Therapist program. Education: Some states require ambulance dispatchers to be certified and could provide credentials through the state Department of Health or the Department of Transportation. Additionally, the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International (APCO) and National Academies of Emergency Dispatch (NAEMD) are both nonprofit organization that offer certification programs for the emergency medical dispatching industry.
